1.Introduction
This report concerns the project proposal for participation in the "Artful living" competition organized by Lamberti design.
The chosen product is the coffee table with a metal structure and a finish selected from those in the Lamberti design catalog.
2.Description of the project
The proposed table has a metal structure formed by a hollow square section profile in stainless steel with dimensions 24x24 mm; the profile has a central border on two sides in vintage shiny gold so as to appear, at the view of the user, a single ribbon without solutions of continuity.
This ribbon follows a continuous closed path according to a precise modular development and constitutes the structure of the table that supports the upper glass top.
The path of the metal strip has been designed to give the proposed object the characteristics of a sculpture that favors voids according to a careful definition of the missing parts compared to the solid parts. In correspondence with the supports on the ground, the lower parts of the belt are equipped with a stainless steel square that allows a slight elevation of the table.
The structure of the table develops within a volume consisting of the intersection of two straight parallelepipeds having, per section, two golden rectangles; even the metallic ribbon that moves in space follows a module based on the principle of the golden section.
The table top is made of a golden rectangular crystal that lets you see the development of the metal band of the structure and the support surface of the crystal. The latter will rest on the metal structure by means of four small transparent rubber pads that will allow its removal
The upper sections of the tape have a space on the lower side for housing LED lights that embellish the object especially during the hours of darkness. The power supply of the LEDs can be battery or mains.
3.Conclusions
This project proposal intends to meet the requirements set out in the Lamberti design “Art
