The project idea is a tribute to the famous film La dolce vita by Federico Fellini with the title here transformed into La dolce linea to emphasize the basic concept of design based exclusively on the use of "softened" curved lines. The duality between "hardness" of iron and "sweetness" of the design line is therefore proposed.
The designed products make up a trio of elements: bench, chair and side table with trays in polished stainless steel. All the elements can be made using a single 5 or 6 mm sheet metal, laser cut and cold bent. The geometries, despite their complexity, can all be traced back to forms that can be developed on a two-dimensional plane. The windows, in addition to polished stainless steel, can be different according to the customer's chromatic choice. The bench, and especially the chairs, have a very pleasant flexural softness once seated, allowing the user to perform a slow and pleasant form of gymnastics, anti-stress and useful for avoiding back pain. The side table, conceptually similar to the geometry of the chair, is easily transportable thanks to small wheels placed in the lower part of the product. The winding, by means of double bending of the sheet, allows to have two support surfaces, both conceived as removable trays to fit into the sheet surface.
