SEAWAVE
bench | coffee tables
Light and shadow, indissoluble union at the base of "Seawave". The curved and sinuous faces, combined with the different inclinations of the direct and reflected light, make the project dynamic and always different. The changeability of the shadows is the conceptual basis on which the project was formally developed: a sculptural but separable element, rich in facets, which emulate the wave motion of the sea.
"Seawave" presents itself as a bench, with a sculptural and architectural soul, a work of art that must be observed in its entirety and every corner hides a unique perspective.
The single volume is in turn composed of three separate elements, which amplify the visual experience and its enjoyment, which can be used as separate seats or low tables. Elements that recall contemporary buildings, angular and curved, with Scandinavian charm and modern lines, but at the same time essential, pure and simple figures that never get old.
The techniques used are many, such as cutting, bending, and welding, so as to maximize the company’s skills. The same principle has been maintained for the finishes. Two different finishes were used to give the project a richness and an unexpected visual effect. The lower arches, derived from a volumetric subtraction of curved bodies, are enriched with a finish different from the main body, such as to create games of reflections, which in some cases can become coloured reflections.
Examples are: the combined block in the finish “Brushed Brass” together with the “Vintage Nikel Shiny Black” and the separate solution in the finish “Vintage Shiny Blue” together with the “Vintage Gold Copper Clouded”.
Volumetric complexity is linked to the sphere of perception, concealing a simplicity of realization, useful from a company perspective, aimed at the production of an economically advantageous product.
